Look Beyond the Obstacle!
Problems are an unavoidable part of living in the world. Christians do not escape that reality, in spite of other guarantees they have for victorious living.
Difficulties, which one encounters in life, are often blessings in disguise, intended to promote one’s growth and build one’s character! With God’s help anyone can distinguish all that and benefit from such experiences.
Nevertheless, any problem should not be passively acknowledged and left unsolved. For most situations, God has given us His resources, and has promised His wisdom in tackling any situation and in overcoming any odds.
As many have wisely suggested, problems quite often contain within themselves the key to their own solution, if one is diligent in searching for it and persistent in its use till results are reached.
On the other hand, God always surrounds His children with brothers and sisters in the faith who may have faced the same conflicts and whose wisdom and counsel may aid one in a successful resolution of the same. Countless other organizations, through varied individuals, can also aid us as God’s agents on earth.
A problem becomes unsolvable only when the one facing it becomes totally passive to its presence and power, allowing discouragement to keep things as they are, instead of going for help.
Probably there’s no counsel I offer more frequently than the challenge: Look Beyond the Obstacle! I have noticed through the years that a common human tendency is to concentrate too much on a pain instead of its cure; to focus more on a problem instead of reflecting on its solution; of being passive in battle rather than taking up the weapons which can ensure victory!
Yet, by looking beyond any obstacle one can recognize the new vistas God puts there for them; new avenues which will lead one into the experience of triumph over whatever assails them!
A popular Gospel song recommends, “Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there!” And this is quite easy for us to do, as we commit our trials and tribulations to Him in prayer. Unfortunately, however, we are often just as quick in taking it all back, long before He grants us the request.
The best choice remains to look beyond the obstacles which life puts in your way, for only so shall you see God’s new possibilities and the concrete opportunities He opens for you to traverse and reach your destination as a victor!
