Fit for the Master’s Use!
To everyone whom Christ redeems, God also grants unique gifts to manifest the reality of His presence in that life, through services rendered in His name, for the benefit of others.
To that end, God empowers those connected to Him in the use of those abilities, to edify fellow Christians and to rescue many without the hope of salvation.
Sadly, many people put their light under a bushel so that it cannot be seen by others, and their gift fails to make its intended impact on the community of faith. Equally distressing is also the desire of some to serve Christ while, nevertheless, disregarding the expectations God has of His children.
Thus, the important question is not whether or not one possesses this or that gift for service but, rather, is one truly fit for the Master’s use? Because many have failed to ask that question of themselves, their efforts have often been in vain, for God is prepared to use only those individuals through whom His grace may flow freely and unhindered; lives in whom His presence is truly evident!
If God’s Truth does not pervade the entirety of one’s being, if the corrosion of sin remains dominant in any life which claims being rescued by Christ, it is impossible for such person to succeed in God’s Name! One may go through the motions of service, participation in committees, singing in choirs, or even preaching and teaching the Word of God, but without the possibility of an eternal impact on other lives.
Fitness in the service of Almighty God entails daily repentance, confession of sin, and total abandonment of all that is inimical to God’s perfect will. It requires a life of prayer, meditation, and study of God’s Word, followed by clear manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit. It has less to do with personal charm and abilities, and everything to do with visible, tangible divine anointing and approval.
Will you produce real fruit in the Kingdom of God, or are you satisfied with the shiny leaves of an unproductive tree? Are you truly fit for the Master’s use? May who you are and what you do for Christ positively affect for eternity, many lives unto whom you may minister both in church and society!
