You Are God’s Project!
Any child of God, through trust in Jesus Christ alone, should know that there are no finished products of the Christian faith on earth. We are all people in construction, in the process of perpetual becoming, men and women in formation!
God is not through with any of us yet. He is seeking to make each of Christ’s purchased possession more conformable to the image of His Son, our Savior and Lord.
God Himself furnishes us with all the ingredients needed for spiritual development. And He causes His Holy Spirit to remain active within each of His children, showing the things of Christ to them, bringing to remembrance those aspects of one’s faith commitment which can be so easily neglected and forgotten, but which are required for advancement in faith and life!
Furthermore, He also leads His own into all the Truth - not new truths, but only new dimensions of the Truth once and for all delivered to the saints.
Because of what Christ has achieved in our behalf and that which the Holy Spirit continues to impart to us, we are God’s work of art, as St. Paul describes it in Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship (literally, His work of art), created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
It is through the manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit, and other outward signs of the reality of Christ in us, that we give evidence that we are on course, and that God remains at work in each of His redeemed!
Indeed, you are God’s project, and He is not finished yet, but neither will He ever fail. You simply need to allow Him to shape and mould and reshape you into the kind of person He has designed you to be. He may utilize hardships, deprivation, or anything less than pleasant, as well as whatever positive blessings to enrich your life and make you that special vessel He desires you to become!
Even though such work will never be finished on earth, we can be fully confident that “He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). God will never neglect or discard whatever He has started. He works night and day to see you develop and advance in His ways, and eventually reach that perfect bliss He has in store for all who truly belong to Him, as redeemed children.
You are not the product of any institution. You are God’s project and He cannot and will not fail! Hold on to His promises and joyfully do your part in dependence upon Him and His divine resources, and in subservience to His revealed, perfect will!
